2013 is off to a busy start for us at the farm! In early January, we welcomed Buster, our new farm dog! He is a beautiful and gentle Maremma Sheepdog. Buster is a great livestock guard dog that will help protect our animals from predators.
We also had our farm family planning meeting! We’ve got exciting goals this year and plans for growing Four Corners Farm in 2013. Several events that we are looking forward to, is our Second Annual Easter Eggstravaganza (March 23rd, here at FCF), Earth Day Roanoke (April 20th at Grandin Village), and our Third Annual Dinner and a Movie (May 19th, here at FCF)! Be sure and mark your calendar and join with others in your community for local fun!
We will be raising more broiler chickens this year! Fresh chicken will be available every weekend beginning May 10th and will continue through mid-October. We also anticipate having our own Four Corners Farm Pastured Pork available early Summer… Keep up to date with the latest happenings through our e-Newsletter or on our Facebook page… and share the love – send on to those you know in our local area that there is a source for non-GMO, drug-free, pure pastured meats!
