flatline-pipeline-WEB-imageAt Four Corners Farm, we care about our county as well as the surrounding communities. After learning about the proposed Mountain Valley Pipeline, including how it could potentially directly cross through a section of our farm, I made a decision to get active with a small group of focused and determined local residents. Our grassroots group quickly grew and we formed Preserve Franklin, a chapter of the Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League. People volunteered to form a board, we started organizing monthly informational public meetings held in Rocky Mount, and a genuine bond in our community was formed – all with the focus on stopping this proposed monstrosity of a pipeline, the “MVP.”

Over seven months of involvement and committed time serving, we were ready to try something BIG – something to reach out to the greater community and especially those who aren’t aware of the REAL issues and concerns surrounding the proposed Mountain Valley Pipeline. Preserve Franklin was also looking for ideas to raise funds to help educate to share the truth about natural gas and pipelines.  And so the “Flatline the Pipeline” Community was born. In just under 8 weeks, several of us have worked together to bring this exciting and unifying event to Franklin County. We hope you’ll join us this Saturday, June 6th, on the farm for fun, food, friends and flat lining!
