As many of you know, we’re very passionate about local food, local economies, and the local environment. We’ve also been very involved with the fight against proposed fracked gas pipelines, including one that is slated to tear through our creeks and pasture (the Mountain Valley Pipeline). 2017 is an important election year as we vote to elect our next Governor. We have made a family decision to share publicly who we are voting for in the primaries (June 13th!) and would like to share several reasons why we support Tom Perriello:
- Tom is a supporter of small, local businesses and a believer of growing rural economies from the ground up, not trickle down
- Tom has done his research on the proposed pipelines and made a decision to come out openly in opposition to the projects (Watch his video here)
- Tom has tri-partisan support (Democrats, Independents & Republicans); He’s ready to tackle big industry and private corporations from using the power of eminent domain for financial gain
- Tom has NOT received any funding from Dominion Power and has refused to accept any donations from publicly-regulated monopolies.
