Joy!

Our youngest daughter, Joy Elizabeth, has loved the Christmas Season… singing songs that celebrate the holidays in her sweet three and a half year old voice.  Joy to the World, Silent Night, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas are three of her favorites to sing again and again – and we have not grown tired of hearing the sincere JOY as she belts them out.  Of course, she does have her own version – the lyrics are changed ever so slightly as she sings what she hears.
One of our favorites is:
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
we wish you a merry Christmas,
we wish you a Merry Christmas,
and a happy New You!

She simply replaced year with you.  How often do we hope for so much in the new year that we just want a new self?  Wouldn’t it be easier to just get a new “you” instead of another new year?  Time keeps moving forward, it doesn’t slow down… so how do we celebrate a happy new you?  Just as we get excited about the new year dawning, each day is fresh with opportunity of growth and change.  New Years resolutions might become New You resolutions – choosing to face each and every day of 2013 with fresh hope and expectancy of what the day may bring.
May your year be happy and even more importantly, may YOU be happy!
